LG To Launch Mega Projects, Sports Policy On Saturday
Jammu, Feb 11: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will be launching mega projects of public welfare and first ever sports policy at different events here on Saturday.
Official sources said that LG Sinha will inaugurate Drug De Addiction Centre at Channi Himmat on Saturday morning. This will be the second drug de addiction centre to be set up at Jammu. The existing one is located at District Police Lines.
Thereafter, Sinha will lay foundation of the ‘River Tawi Front’, the much awaited project of people of Jammu. The project, once completed will be beautifying the Tawi Front and will have multi features like eating points, parks, walking zones, cycling zones on the pattern of ‘Sabarmati River Front’.
Meanwhile, the LG will also officially launch the ‘Sports Policy’, which was approved on February 4 in the Administrative Council meeting chaired by him. The Jammu and Kashmir Government sanctioned the implementation of the first ever Jammu and Kashmir Sports Policy 2022 with the vision of ‘games & sports for all’ and to create more sports enthusiasts among the youth of the valley.
The Sports Policy has been framed with the institution of several sports awards, incentives, scholarships, appointment of outstanding sports persons among other features, said an official.
