Nitish Kumar Again Differs With The BJP, Contest Rewriting of Indian History
By D N Singh
A fissure has emerged between BJP and its ally in Bihar, JD(U), now ruling. Union Minister Amit Shah and Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar seems standing on a space that is widely divided by a recent ideology on the re-writing of Indian history.
Nitish Kumar who in recent times grew a bit critical of the views of his political colleagues at the Center, had already sent jitters into the saffron camp by a few of his social activities like joining with the RJD parivar in Bihar over Iftar parties.
Which obviously had not gone well with the BJP. Now on the question of ‘re-writing’ history, such a hint coming from none other than the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, Nitish Kumar has virtually rubbished the statement saying, how can history of the country be re-written, when history is history and cannot be changed.
Which obviously created yet another flutter in politics. Earlier, Nitish had told to go ahead with a ‘caste based’ census in Bihar despite Center’s strong and upfront denial to hold castebased census. The idea was, reportedly, rejected by the Prime Minister.
And, now, on the proposed view of the Union Home Minister over rewriting Indian history, the Bihar chief minister made his stance very clear. That, history cannot be rewritten now.
