Srinagar, Jan 26: Internet services on mobile devices, which were suspended in Kashmir as a precautionary measure in view of the Republic Day celebrations, were restored on Wednesday evening, officials said. However, mobile phones and broadband services remained unaffected. The Republic Day celebrations in Kashmir valley passed off peacefully, they added. Authorities in the valley have been suspending the mobile phone and Internet services on Republic Day and Independence Day as part of the security drill since 2005.
