Hours To Go: Uttarakhand Polls: 81,72,173 Voters To Exercise Franchise On Monday
Dehradun, Feb 13 (UNI) A total of 81,72,173 voters from all 70 Assembly constituencies of Uttarakhand will exercise their franchise at 11,697 polling stations on Monday for the formation of fifth Assembly. Addressing a press conference at the media centre of the Secretariat on Sunday evening, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state Sowjanya said that polling will be held from 8 am to 6 pm. He said that 23 companies of PAC and 114 companies of CRPF have been appointed for free and fearless polling. In addition, 36,095 Gazetted Officers, sub-inspectors, constables, forest guards and home guards have been appointed. He said the state has been divided into 276 zones, under which, 1447 sectors have been created.
The CEO informed that a total of 776 hyper-sensitive polling booths have been identified in the state, while 1050 are vulnerable. Along with this, 173 booths have been identified as special trouble areas. He said that for the first time, 310 shadow polling booths have also been set up
