Assam: CBI Files Chargesheet In Chit Fund Case
Guwahati, Feb 8 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against 13 accused, including MD, Director of private companies and others, in a chit fund related case in Assam which duped customers to the tune of Rs 238 crore. CBI had registered a case against a private group of companies and others including Managing Directors; GM; Manager; private companies based at Guwahati with head office at Kolkata. The Names of the accused in the chargesheet were Biswapriya Giri, MD, Sachindra Nath Bhattacharya, Director. URO Agro India Limited, URO Infra Reality India Limited, URO Walkers Ltd, URO Hygienic Foods Limited, URO Lifecare Ltd, URO Autotech Ltd, URO Trexim Ltd, URO Hotels and Resorts India Ltd, URO Infotech Limited, URO Enclave India Ltd, Sushil Kumar Sharma, CA. It was alleged that the accused had started its business of collecting money from the public illegally through various agents under the cover schemes claimed to be for product booking and collected huge amounts of money with an assurance to pay back with lucrative interest without any guarantor and without permission of RBI/SEBI etc. It was further alleged that none of the customers had received any product against the money and the scheme was planned to cheat the public to the tune of Rs. 238 crore .
