Ranji: Dhull Records Twin Ton In Debut
New Delhi, Feb 20: Delhi’s Yash Dhull on Sunday scored a century in the second innings against Tamil Nadu at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
He became the third player to score a ton in each innings on debut. Dhull, who led India to win a record fifth Under-19 World Cup, scored an unbeaten 113 off 202, which included 14 boundaries.
Nari Contractor was the first to achieve the feat playing for Gujarat. Virag Awate of Maharashtra was the second player to hit centuries in both the innings. In the first innings, Dhull scored 113 off 150 balls, which included 18 boundaries, before he got trapped leg-before off M Mohammed. Batting first, Delhi scored 452. In reply, Tamil Nadu folded up for 494 with a 42-run lead. In the second innings, Delhi declared the innings at 228 and the match ended in a draw. In the Mumbai versus Saurashtra match in Ahmedabad, senior India Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara, who was dismissed for a duck in the first innings, scored 91 off 83 balls studded with 16 boundaries and a six. Resuming from 105 for no loss, Saurashtra were 373/9. Snell Patel (98) top scored for Saurashtra. Chetan Sakariya (10 not out) and skipper Jaydev Unadkat (32 not out) denied Mumbai a win as the match ended up in draw. Earlier, Mumbai skittled out Saurashtra for 220 and has imposed a follow on.
