ISSF WC: India Adds 4 Medals On Day 4
Changwon (South Korea), July 14: Indian shooting team on Thursday bagged 4 medal comprising the gold and three bronze medals at the ISSF Shooting World Cup.
Men’s team of Arjun Babuta, Shahu Tushar Mane and Paarth Makhija clinched the gold in Air Rifle team event after beating the host Korea 17-15 in the Gold medal final.
Air Rifle women team of Ramita, Tokyo Olympian Elavenil Valarivan and Mehuli Ghosh settled for the silver after losing gold medal match 10-16 to Korea.
Both the men and women rifle team topped the eight-team qualifications with 629.7 and 631.5 points respectively followed by Korea on second to qualify for the gold medal match.
The duo of Shiva Narwal Naveen and Sagar Dangi also bagged silver in the Air Psitol men’s team event as they lost gold mtach to 15-17 to Italy.
Air Pistol team of Rhythm Sangwan, Palak and Yuvika Tomar, however, lost gold final 12-16 against Korea to finish with the silver medal.
Pistol teams have finished the qualifications on second 581-22x and 571-20x to advance to the gold final against Italy and Korea respectively.
In total, India won eight medals (3 gold, 4 silver and a bronze) and currently placed on top of the medal tally, followed by Korea with three golds and a silver on second place. Serbia have won total three gold medals and are on the third position.
A total of 30 gold medals are on offer and about 450 athletes from 43 countries are competing across 30 events at the final world cup of the season.
