Cairo, March 3: Indian women’s team of Shri Nivetha, Esha Singh and Ruchita Vinerkar bagged gold medal in the 10m air pistol team event at the ISSF World Cup here. India defeated German team of Andrea Katharina Heckner, Sandra Reitz and Carina Wimmer 16-6 in the gold medal match on Wednesday.
The trio finished on top in the first qualification stage with 856 points, and also topped the second qualification with 574 points and qualified for the gold medal match. However, the 10m Air Pistol men’s team of Saurabh Chaudhary, Gaurav Rana and Uchaganve Kedarling Balakrishna missed out on a bronze medal after losing 6-16 to Italian team of Torracchi Alessio, Monna Paolo and Tesconi Luca. India are placed on top of the standings with a total of three medals including 2 golds and 1 silver, followed by Germany with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.
