India To Bowl Vs WI, Bishnoi Makes Debut
Kolkata, Feb 16: India won the toss and elected to bowl against West Indies in the first T20I here at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday. Skipper Rohit Sharma confirmed that leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi will make his debut for India and Ishan Kishan will open the batting with him. “I don’t want to comment too much on the pitch, because it’s played differently everytime we’ve played here. We want to have a score in mind so we can approach our batting accordingly in the second half,” said Rohit after winning the toss.
“One eye has to be on Australia, we got to keep ticking the boxes. We’ve played really well as a team, just those little moments of the game we’ve got to seize. Good opportunity against West Indies, a quality side and they’ll challenge us.” On the other hand, West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard informed that Jason Holder will miss the match as the all-rounder got hit during a practice session on the eve of the match. “We’ve to bat and bat well. We’d one forced change, Jason Holder misses out, he got hit in practice yesterday. Roston Chase gets an opportunity.
Our analyst said 194 is the par score. Let’s see how well we can capitalise in the first six overs and then at the back-end, which has been a strength for us,” said Pollard.
