IND vs WI: India Wins Toss, Elect To Bat
Ahmedabad, Feb 11: India won the toss and elected to bat on Friday against the West Indies in the third One-Day International match here at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
India will look to sweep the ODI series while the West Indies will like to avoid a whitewash after already losing the first two matches.
India skipper Rohit Sharma said India will bat with three changes in their playing XI – Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Kuldeep Yadav come in place of K L Rahul, Deepak Hooda and Yuzvendra Chahal respectively.
“We are going to bat first, it’s something we always wanted to do… It’s always nice to post runs on the board. And give the bowlers a chance to do what they did in the last game. You just have to do what you want to achieve as a team. We have solid confidence in our bowling unit, so let’s give it a crack,” said Rohit.
On the other hand, the West Indies has made only one change in the playing XI, with Hayden Walsh replacing Akeal Hosein.
Windies skipper Nicholas Pooran said: “I wanted to bowl first again. Couldn’t get over the line in the last game, hopefully we do it today. The batters need to bat for long and not leave it for others. We need to win those important moments.”
