Hafeez Retires, Greetings Pour In
New Delhi, Jan 3: Cricket fraternity in Pakistan extended their warm greetings to all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, after he announced his retirement from international cricket on Monday.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam, former pacer bowler Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Birmah Marrof and others wished happy retirement to veteran all-rounder on social media.
Skipper Babar tweeted: “A memorable career comes to an end. I have learnt a lot from @mhafeez22 bhai and his experiences. Thank you for your guidance… we shared on the field. Happy retirement, ‘professor’.

Former fast-bowler Umar Gul tweeted he will miss watching Hafeez playing for Pakistan.
“We started our career together and since that day, I have known you to be one of the most kindest and straight forward person. You have given so much to the world of cricket during these years and we will surely miss watching you play for Pakistan. Wishing you prosperity ahead,” Gul said.
Pakistan Women’s cricket team captain Bismah Maroof tweeted: “Mubarak to Hafeez bhai on an amazing international career and all your services for Pakistan. Wishing you all the best for your second innings.”
Pakistan pacer Riaz congratulated Hafeez on his retirement and said: “Congratulations on an amazing career and for all your services for Pakistan cricket, lots of great memories. Prayers and best wishes for the future. Happy retirement Professor.”
Pakistan’s ODI and T20 vice-captain Shadab Khan said: “Farewell Hafeez bhai from international cricket. Congratulations on an amazing career. Wishing you the very best of luck in this new chapter of your life. Stay blessed.”
