Birmingham, Aug 1: World championships medalist boxer Amit Panghal sailed into the men’s flyweight quarterfinal here on Monday at the Commonwealth Games.
Panghal defeated Namri Berry of Vanuatu by 5-0 unanimous verdict at the National Exhibition Centre.
The scores after the three rounds awarded by the five judges were: 30-25, 30-25, 30-25, 30-27, 30-25.
He will take on Scotland’s Lennon Mulligan in the quarterfinal scheduled for Thursday.
