CBI Court Rejects Anil Deshmukh’s Bail Plea On Technical Grounds

Mumbai, July 11: A CBI court here on Monday rejected the bail pleas of former Maharashtra home minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh, along with his two co-accused, on technical grounds.

The pleas were filed on the technical ground that the charge-sheet, filed by CBI within the stipulated 60-days time after their arrest, was incomplete.

The trio had claimed that since the full charge-sheet was not filed as required, they were entitled to be released on bail.

However, the central investigation agency, while opposing the pleas, argued that while there was a delay in submitting certain documents along with the charge-sheet, but charge-sheet was filed within the stipulated time.
