36th National Games: Chamba Girl Seema Wins Gold In 10000m Race
Hamirpur (HP), Oct 3: Seema, the young but lanky girl of interior areas of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday won the gold medal in 10, 000 meters race at the 36th National Games in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Seema secured first position in the race with the timings of 33 minutes 08 seconds. Haryana’s Bharti stood second and Uttar Pradesh’s Kavita Yadav placed third.
Earlier, Seema won the silver medal in the 5000 meters race on Saturday. Her performance in the National Games has brought a lot of enthusiasm among the youth.
The 21-year-old runner has completed her graduation and is a practicing athlete at the Center of Excellence in Bhopal.
Kehar Singh Patyal, Seema’s initial coach, when she was training at SAIs Dharamshala center said that he was proud of the performance of her trainee.
Patyal said that he knew since Seema joined him at Dharamshala that she would become a national level athlete and that she had proved by winning two medals at the national games.
