Odisha Open: Unnati, Arjun-Treesa Enter Final
Cuttack, Jan 29 : India’s young shuttler Unnati Hooda and mixed doubles pair of M R Arjun and Treesa Jolly advanced to the final of the BWF Odisha Open Super 100 tournament on Saturday. The 14-year-old Unnati defeated tournament favourite Malvika Bansod 24-22, 24-22 in a thrilling semifinal contest. Earlier this month, the 20-year-old Bansod stunned ace Indian shuttler and her idol Saina Nehwal in the second round of the BWF India Open in New Delhi.
The mixed team of Arjun and Treesa outplayed Balkeshari Yadav and Swetaparna Padna 21-9, 21-9 in a match that lasted just 20 minutes. Another mixed pair, Mauryan Kathiravan and Kuhan Balashri, lost to Sri Lankans Sachin Dias and Thilini Hendahewa 21-8, 21-17 in a semifinal match.
