World’s Reaction To Russia Hysterical: Moscow
Moscow, March 3: International community’s reaction to Russia’s actions in Ukraine, including those of the UN General Assembly, “is hysterical”, Moscow said on Thursday.
Calling all pronouncements made by the European Union nations, the UK, US and UN are “absurd”, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova termed their action as clear “intimidation”. “It is hysteriсal, it is intimidation, it is all of these together… they will make more and more absurd statements,” Zakharova told the SolovyovLive show on YouTube.
Speaking about the international community’s reaction on Russia’s “Ukraine measure”, her reactions resonated those of her foreign minister Sergey Lavrov, who on Thursday said Russia does not build its policy on the principle of “escalation for the sake of de-escalation”.
“There is no escalation for the sake of de-escalation, as Western analysts are trying to impute to us. But the talks about nuclear war are indeed underway. I ask you to look very carefully at the statements that were made and at the people who made these statements,” Lavrov was quoted as saying during a media conference by Sputnik.
Lavrov noted that at first such statements were made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and then repeated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
