Ukrainian Official, Part Of Peace Talks Found Murdered
Moscow/Kyiv, Mar 5: A Ukrainian official who participated in the first round of peace talks with Russia has been found murdered. According to strana, quoting law enforcement agencies, Denis Kireev was murdered near the Pechersk court.
It is not specified under what circumstances he was murdered, and it is also not known who committed the crime. The information was confirmed by Ukrainian journalist Anatoly Shariy.
“Right in the center of Kyiv, they were executed, with a shot in the head, near the Pechersk Court,” he wrote on Telegram. There are no official comments on this yet.
The first stage of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place in the Gomel region of Belarus on February 28. The meeting lasted about five hours. During this time, the parties went through all the items on the agenda in detail.
On March 3, the second round of negotiations took place in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. As the head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky said, Moscow and Kiev discussed the military and international humanitarian issues, as well as the future of the political settlement of the situation.
During the negotiations, which lasted more than five hours, it was possible to reach an understanding on a number of important issues, including organising humanitarian corridors for the civilian population.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky said that the third round of negotiations between the two countries will be held in the coming days. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, pointed out that a new meeting of delegations could take place on March 5 or 6 .
