Turkey To Host Russia-Ukraine Peace Talks
Ankara, March 7: Turkey Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday announced tripartite meeting with Ukraine and Russia hoping it to be an “important step” towards securing peace in the region.
“We will hold this meeting in a tripartite format in Antalya on March 10,” said Cavusoglu. The meeting will be held at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which will be held from March 11-13. Anadolu Agency quoted the minister as saying that Ankara will “continue to make efforts for a lasting peace”.
The United Nations human rights office on Sunday said 364 civilians in Ukraine have been killed since Russia’s invasion on February 24. According to UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, “More than 1.5 million refugees from Ukraine have crossed into neighbouring countries in 10 days — the fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II”.
