64-km Long Russian Convoy Spotted Near Kyiv
Washington, Mar 1: A series of satellite images by US company Maxar have revealed a 64-km long convoy of Russian forces in north-west of Ukraine’s capital.
“Satellite images taken on Monday show a Russian military convoy north of Kyiv that stretches for about 64 km in an area north-west of Kyiv. It is substantially longer than the 27 km reported earlier in the day,” The Guardian quoted Maxar as saying on Monday.
The company also said additional ground forces deployments and ground attack helicopter units were spotted in southern Belarus, less than 32 km north of the Ukraine border.
On Tuesday, the Russian army launched attack on Kherson, a city in the south between Mykolaiv and New Kakhovka. “According to eyewitnesses, the enemy is advancing from the airport to the Nikolaev highway and a ring near the cold storage plant”, Ukraine’s State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection reported on its Telegram channel.
The city’s mayor has also said that the Russian army had set up checkpoints at the entrances to the city.
