Zero Tolerance Policy Against Mafias To Continue: Yogi
Gorakhpur, April 9: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday reiterated that policy of zero tolerance against mafias will continue in the state, but dwellings of the poor will not be destroyed. Talking to the reporters here, Yogi said, “Policy of zero tolerance will continue against mafias, but dwellings of the poor will not be demolished. Now the mafia and criminals cannot grab the land of the government, public, poor and traders.” He said that the state government in its previous regime constituted an ‘anti land-mafia task force’ to act against all types of mafias and criminals.
“The task force is carrying out a massive programme to remove encroachments across the state. So far properties of mafias worth Rs 2,500 crore have been seized,” he said. On the occasion the CM gave clear instructions to the officials that the hut of a poor person should not be removed till a house is not provided to him. “If the land is not of reserved category that the lease should be given there itself and if the land is of reserved category then he should be provided a house at an alternative place,” he said.
He directed the implementation of ‘Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojna’ and rehabilitation of street vendors in an arranged manner.
“Action under the anti-land mafia is against the mafias and not for the poor. There should be sympathy towards the poor,” he said. It may be noted that on Friday the CM issued strict directives that bulldozers should not move on the huts, houses and shops of the poor and action should be taken only against mafias and criminals.
