Mumbai, July 4: A court here has issued a bailable warrant against Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for non-appearance in a defamation complaint filed by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya’s wife Medha Somaiya.
Medha Somaiyas claimed that Raut had made defamatory allegations accusing her and her husband of being involved in a scam worth Rs 100 crore in the construction and maintenance of public toilets.
The court had observed that Raut prima facie made defamatory statements against the BJP leader and his wife.
