Lucknow, Feb 2: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) minister Swami Prasad Maurya will contest Uttar Pradesh Assembly election from Fazilnagar seat in Kushinagar district on Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket.
SP announced his candidature on Wednesday. In 2017 Swami Prasad Maurya contested from Padrauna seat in Kushinagar. It may be noted that Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from the post of cabinet minister in the Yogi government and joined the SP last month.
The party has also named two more candidates. Former minister Abhishek Mishra has been fielded from Sarojini Nagar seat in Lucknow, Pallavi Patel will challenge Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sirathu seat in Kaushambi district.
