Chandigarh, Feb 5: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will announce the chief ministerial candidate of the party for Punjab on Sunday. An official tweet from the Punjab Youth Congress said the announcement will be made at 1400 hours through a virtal rally that Rahul Gandhi will address on Sunday.
During his earlier visit, the Congress leader had said that the party will announce its chief ministerial face for Punjab after getting feedback from the party workers and people of the state. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Partap Singh Bajwa, while speaking to a news channel, said that there is no need for the Congress to decide the CM face for Punjab ahead of Assembly Elections as it can be detrimental for the party in the assembly polls.
