Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi files nomination
Chandigarh, Jan 31: Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday filed his nomination papers as the Congress candidate from the Bhadaur (SC) seat in Barnala district. After filing his nomination, Channi, who is also contesting from his home turf Chamkaur Sahib, said the Congress had directed him to contest from Bhadaur also.
He said he has come in Malwa region with a mission as this area was backward in terms of development and promised to uplift it. He was flanked by Congress leader and former Union minister Pawan Bansal, whose son Manish Bansal is the Congress candidate from Barnala. Reacting to AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claim that Channi would lose from Chamkaur Sahib, the Chief Minister dared Kejriwal to contest against him from any constituency in Punjab.
