Haridwar, Feb 5: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of behaving like a ‘king’, and slammed him over the farmers’ protests.
Addressing a rally in Haridwar, Rahul Gandhi also attacked promised universal basic income in states where his party comes to power. “Narendra Modi ji is creating one India for the rich, and another one for the poor. We don’t want two Indias, we want one India,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“We will implement the Nyay Yojana in all states where we come to power… 5 lakh families will get Rs 40,000 in their bank accounts directly. We will eradicate poverty from Uttarakhand,” he said.
The former Congress president said healthcare would be brought to doorsteps of people. “We will bring healthcare to you’re doorsteps. Where ambulances cannot reach motorcycle ambulance will be sent,” he said.
He also raised the issue of farmers protests, and accused prime minister Modi of behaving like a ‘king’. “Farmers are the backbone of this country. For one year they were sitting on protest, in the middle of Covid, because of three black laws. Farmers of India were sitting on protest for one whole year. Narendra Modi ji didn’t even talk to them,” he said. “Narendra Modi ji is the Prime Minister, but he is behaving like a king of the 21st century,” he said.
The Congress leader also addressed a farmers’ rally in Uttarakhand’s Kichcha. He also attended Ganga arti. Uttarakhand goes to polls on February 14.
