Opposition Making Hollow Promises: Mayawati
Lucknow, Feb 9: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Wednesday accused the opposition parties of making hollow promises in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections to mislead the people and said that only strong resolve of her party can give a trustworthy government to the state.
In a statement issued here, Mayawati has said, “The opposition parties are once again misleading the people by making hollow and populist promises in the elections. Only BSP’s strong resolve can remove anti-farmer and poor, non-welfare Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government which has narrow and violent tendencies and give a pothole, violence and riots free and employment and development oriented trustworthy government in the state.”
She said, “This will be a happy change because the stress, pain and struggle the people of UP are facing every day is unprecedented.” Mayawati said BJP is sensing defeat in the polls “It is well known that people are under distress because of increasing poverty, unemployment, inflation and exodus in search of living due to wrong policies of the government at the center and the in the state and its narrow casteist and communal activities due to which BJP is sensing that it is going out of power in UP.” “In such circumstances people have faith in BSP which follows the policies of ‘Sarvjan Hitay and Sarvjan Sukahy’ and have been tested by them that it will be surely helpful in bringing ‘achhe din’ good days,” she said.
