Maha: “Union Ministers Should Get Their Facts Right”: Tapase
Aurangabad/Mumbai, April 9: Chief Spokesperson of the NCP Mahesh Tapase on Saturday said that, ministers of the Modi Government are making tall claims about public works done in 8 years and comparing them to the work done in last 60 years. In his press statement Tapase said that, recently Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that only 3.26 crore houses were built for the rural poor in 60 year while 2.4 crore houses have been constructed in only in 8 years of Modi Government. I think ministers in the Modi government need to get their facts right and while comparing they should take a lot of factors into consideration, he said. Between 1947 to early 90s what was the state of the country’s economy, what was a GDP and how much financial resource was available to the individual ministries, all these figures have to be made public while drawing comparison.
Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh ushered India on to the path of economic growth by introducing the policy of liberalization, privatization and globalisation. The UPA Government had already catapulted India into a $2.5 trillion economy before the Modi Government took over. Despite high prices of crude oil internationally, Dr Manmohan Singh never passed on the burden on to the common man unlike the government of today. Communal harmony, brotherhood and respect for all was an integral part of our daily life under the rprevious government. Hence while drawing comparison ministers in the Modi government should also place on record the financial outlay of their respective ministries right from 1947 to 1990 and also 1990 onwards in the post privatization and globalisation era, added Tapase.
