Maha Cong slams Home Minister over statement on Uddhav Thackeray
Pune, Sep 6 : Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari on Tuesday attacked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for making critical remarks against Shiv Sena president and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, alleging that BJP has so far not fulfilled any promises made publicly during the last two Lok Sabha elections.
BJP had promised to bring down inflation, bring back black money and then deposit Rs 15 lakh into bank accounts of every citizen, provide safety to women, double farmers’ income, fix minimum support price for crops, waive off farmers’ loans, and give two crore jobs every year to unemployed, he said and accused the saffron party of not delivering the pre-electoral promises.
“Is this not betrayal of the public by BJP,” he asked.
Tiwari was responding to Shah’s statement made during the latter’s visit in Mumbai on Monday.
While addressing the party workers and elected representatives, Shah had accused Uddhav Thackeray of having betrayed BJP and asked the party workers to teach him a good lesson in upcoming civic polls for Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
He charged that BJP first committed major ‘sin of fraud’ of overthrowing the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.
Not only that, it (BJP) had usurped power in Maharashtra by ‘unethical’ and ‘unconstitutional’ means through horse-trading, misusing central investigation agencies and also disregarding democratic values, the Congress leader alleged.
The people of Maharashtra have now understood the dirty tactics of BJP, Tiwari added.
