Kejriwal Responsible For Fractured Mandate In 2017 Goa Assembly Elections: Randeep Singh Surjewala
Panaji, Feb 5: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala on Saturday alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was responsible for fractured mandate in 2017 assembly elections in Goa. ”He is an imposter who is batting for BJP from behind the scenes. People of Goa must know what he did last time. Kejriwal was responsible for the fractured mandate. He is again trying to do so in order to help the BJP.
Mr Kejriwal has come to destroy the future of Goa,” he alleged while addressing a press conference in the city. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had contested 2017 assembly elections in Goa as well but could not win any seats. On party candidates taking pledge to remain loyal to the party post getting elected as MLAs by signing affidavits, he said it was a brave decision.
”It is a brave decision. We decided we will not take those people back who had defected and spoiled the political landscape of Goa. Many BJP ministers were ready to join but we decided to have young faces to represent the ethos of Goa rather than all those defectors to us,” he said.
He said the oath was the commencement of new political culture in Goa. To a question, he said parties like Trinamool Congress should introspect whether they were an obstacle in providing a good government to Goa.
”You don’t have a political base in Goa. Are you helping BJP intentionally or unintentionally? And if you think that we are right, its not late. Come forward and support Congress,” he said.
Attacking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mr Surjeala said jobs were for sale under BJP rule and job scams were just restricted to Goa but there were identical scams in other BJP-ruled states as well. He pointed out that Goa was ranked second highest in terms of unemployment in the country and 30 lakh jobs were vacant in government of India setup and public sector undertakings across the country. U
