Panaji, Jan 4: Goa Chronicle founder Savio Rodriguez joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Tuesday.
He joined the BJP in the presence of its Goa unit President Sadanand Shet Tanavade.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Tanavade said, “I welcome Mr Rodriguez into the BJP. He is very famous on social media and has the same ideology which the BJP. I believe the BJP will benefit immensely with Mr Rodriguez joining it.”
Mr Rodriguez said he was extremely delighted and humbled to join the BJP.
He said he wanted to work for the party and the Christian community in Goa and instill the sense of nationalism among the people.
Mr Rodriguez said there was some negativity about the BJP in the community which should be removed and their fears should be allayed.
There is need to explain the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people, he said.
Assembly elections in Goa are to be scheduled to be held this year. However, dates are yet to be announced
