Goa: AAP MLAs Take Oath Not To Defect After Getting Elected As MLA
Panaji, Feb 2: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates on Wednesday signed affidavits taking oath that they will remain with the party and honest to their constituencies. Addressing a press conference, Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said,”Two problems are there in Goa: Corruption and defection. Today our all candidates have signed affidavits taking oath that they will be honest after getting elected as MLAs.”
It would mean that under the law people can approach courts if they find that their MLAs are doing against the oath taken in the affidavits. He said the affidavits would be distributed in the constituencies of the respective candidates. He alleged that BJP Government or the Congress government had done nothing and said if honest government was required then AAP was the best option. To a question he said, Union Home Minister Amit Shah should tell people whether he gets free electricity or not. ” If free electricity for him is okay then what is the problem if people are getting free electricity,? he questioned.
