Sourav Ganguly appointed as brand ambassador for Tripura Tourism

Agartala, Dec 12 :  Former Indian cricket captain and ex-BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly, on Monday during his two-day visit to Tripura, formally signed an agreement with Tripura Tourism Development Corporation as a brand ambassador for Tripura Tourism.

He shot some promotional videos for tourism on Tuesday in Chabimura in Gomati district and at the iconic Ujjayanta palace in Agartala.

He met Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday night and held a wide range of discussions for tourism promotion and the development of cricket in Tripura, officials said here.

Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the strategic partnership aimed to enhance tourism potential in Tripura by utilising Ganguly’s widespread popularity and influence to attract visitors from across the globe.

The decision by Ganguly to embrace the role of brand ambassador for Tripura tourism is expected to shine a spotlight on the state’s hidden tourist gem, he stated.

Following the state government’s request, the former Indian cricket team captain expressed his willingness to be the brand ambassador for Tripura tourism in May this year.

Chief Minister Dr Saha after meeting with Ganguly said, “It’s a matter of great pride that former captain of the Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly has accepted our proposal to be the brand ambassador of Tripura Tourism.”
