The tweet quotes comments by BJP leaders as quoted in media reports. It included a comment by Home Minister Amit Shah where he was quoted calling Bangladeshi immigrants as ‘termites’, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who reportedly said women are not capable of being left independent.
He also quoted MP Sadhvi Pragya’s statement calling Nathuram Godse a ‘deshbhakt’ or nationalist.
The tweet comes in the backdrop of the controversy around statements made by Nupur Sharma, a former spokesperson of BJP who was suspended this Sunday, and Naveen Jindal of Delhi BJP who was expelled from the party.
The two had made derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad. BJP in a statement also called them ‘fringe’ and said the party did not agree with their view.
Congress has however slammed BJP of taking the action only under international pressure after a number of nations registered their protest.
