Delhi Govt Fulfilling Dreams Of Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh: Kejriwal
New Delhi, Jan 25: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the Delhi government is fulfilling the dreams of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh by doing revolutionary work in the education sector for the past seven years. Kejriwal greeted the countrymen by hoisting the national flag during the Republic Day celebrations held at the Delhi Secretariat today.
During this, he said the government is fulfilling the dreams of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh. “In the last seven years, the Delhi government did revolutionary work in Education sector. In our tenure, we increased the education budget to 25 per cent and worked on improving the school infrastructure. Children are now being taught to become good human beings and staunch patriots, ” he added.
Acknowledging Delhi’s Covid-19 crisis in previous waves, he said as most international flights land in Delhi, so the people of the capital suffered the most. Thanks to Delhi residents, officials and doctors, who dealt with this epidemic very well. The Chief Minister said the Omicron wave is spreading very fast, but is said to be a little mild.
Total 29000 cases were reported on January 13, which is near to the maximum number of cases reported in the previous wave. On January 15, the highest positivity rate was around 30 per cent, which came down to around 10 to 10.50 per cent today. The data confirms that this time, the wave is very mild. Touching upon vaccination, Kejriwal said that vaccination of citizens was done on a war-footing. “All our doctors, nurses, para-medical staff and officials together have done a wonderful job on vaccination,” he added. He said the government has to impose certain restrictions for the people in view of rising cases, but it is ultimately for the benefit of people only.
