Panaji, Jan 17: Not even a month in Trinmool Congress, Former Congress MLA Alexo Reginaldo has said to come back soon. Former MLA Alexo Reginaldo Lourenco on Monday said that he would take a decision over re-joining Congress in a day or two.
Speaking to reporters, he said,’ My people have told me to re-join Congress, will listen to them. The decision will be made in a day or two.’ He said he was sorry to his supporters for the decision he took in the recent past.
However, the former Goa Working President claimed that the decision which he had taken was in the interest of his constituency and people of the state.
‘I only know what I went through for 20 days. But I fought, and fought hard …I am grateful to my supporters. I decided to resign from the Trinamool Congress. I know I have hurt a lot of people and it will have repercussions. I want to be true to my people,’ he said.
Lourenco had quit the Congress on December 20 last month and joined the Trinamool Congress the next day.
However, he quit TMC on January 16, 2022.
Reginald was one of eight leaders whose names were announced by the Congress party in its first list of candidates for the 2022 assembly elections.
