Congress ‘Looted’ Manipur: PM
New Delhi, March 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on previous Congress governments at the Centre and in Manipur and accused them of “looting” the state.
“The Congress’ main focus was not development but to loot the state. They ignored the main problems of the people,” Modi told a virtual rally in Manipur. He also accused the grand old party of trying to divide people in the name of the hill and the valley. “For decades, those who gave Manipur unrest, be careful and do not give them a chance again to rule,” the Prime Minister said ahead of the second phase of Assembly elections due on March 5.
Modi said in the last five years the “double engine” government of the BJP had given peace to the state. “Manipur’s balanced development is the top most priority of the BJP. Manipur and North East are at the centre of India’s unity.” Modi vowed to build an AIIMS and set up a Rs 100 crores fund for startup if the BJP was voted to power.
