New Delhi, March 19 : The Congress has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is responsible for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and it cannot escape the responsibility for the pain inflicted on the community. The party tweeted that the BJP was responsible for the suffering of Kashmiri Pandits as it was supporting the V P Singh government at the Center when the exodus began and did nothing for the Pandits. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the film made on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits is “propaganda” and is an attempt to promote violence by distorting facts. From its official page, the Congress tweeted: “BJP can do politics in the name of Kashmiri Pandits, it can pretend to shed tears. But it will not be able to hide its sin.
The BJP, the power partner in the V P Singh government, cannot escape responsibility for the pain of Kashmiri Pandits.” Jairam Ramesh said: “Some films inspire change. Kashmir Files incites hate. Truth can lead to justice, rehabilitation, reconciliation and peace. Propaganda twists facts, distorts history to whip up anger and promote violence. Statesmen heal wounds. Pracharaks exploit fear and prejudice to divide and rule.”
