After 1st Phase Polls, It Is Clear BJP Will Retain Power: Yogi
Lucknow, Feb 14: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday claimed that the situation has become clear after the first phase of polling on February 10 and now it was certain that BJP will form the government in UP with a thumping majority. The Chief Minister said that after the first phase of elections, the situation has become clearer and I can say with confidence that the BJP will form the government with a thumping majority in Uttar Pradesh. Interacting with the media here on Monday, when the state is holding elections in 55 seats in the second phase, the CM said that the first phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh was held peacefully.
There was no riot anywhere in the state, otherwise there would have been riots and hooliganism. “I want to ask whether elections are held in such a peaceful manner in Bengal. During the assembly elections in Bengal, the workers of the BJP were being brutally tortured. Booths were being captured there and the same thing happened in Kerala,” he added. Yogi Adityanath said that those people who are talking about spreading anarchy should also speak about Bengal and how things happened there. Regarding the result of the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, he said, “I had talked about 80 vs 20 which means 80 percent people will be with BJP and 20 percent always oppose and will continue to oppose”.
CM said, “We did not talk about caste, vote or religion. Our 80 percent of those people who always support the good works of the state government and 20 percent of those who always oppose. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the agenda of Indian politics. Today development, good governance, villages, poor, farmers, youth and women are the topics of discussion in India’s political system built around caste, creed, religion and family earlier.”
On the question of the opposition’s rule, CM Yogi Adityanath said, “The fear of law should be in the mind of every person who is a threat to the safety of the people. The only difference is that before 2017 in Uttar Pradesh, there used to be a riots every three-four days. The place was under curfew for months, anarchy was at its peak and there was hooliganism. But now there have been no riots in the state in the last five years, no curfew was imposed anywhere. Today, the Kanwar Yatra comes out in a wonderful way in the state, it is a respect of faith and makes the people of the state feel safe”.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that now in the new India development will be for everyone but appeasement is not for anyone. “The government is working with the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. New India will run according to the Constitution and not according to Shariat. I can clearly say that the dream of Ghazwa-e-Hind will not come true even on doomsday. Personal faith cannot apply to the country but I cannot tell everyone to wear saffron. The dream of Ghazwa-e-Hind will not come true. Your personal belief will be yours.
On the question of hijab, CM Yogi Adityanath said that the system of India should run according to the Constitution, we cannot impose our personal beliefs and likes and dislikes on the country and institutions.” I cannot tell all the employees or people in Uttar Pradesh that you too should wear saffron or dress code should be enforced in every school. Every person is free to wear what he wants ,” he said. He further said, “There is a case of disproportionate assets against the family of Akhilesh ji. Did it happen during the BJP government. In 2013, there was no BJP government either. There are many more cases against him, is it because of the BJP?.”
