Bhubaneswar, May 31: About 57 percent polling was recorded in the by poll to Brajrajnagar Assembly seat in Odisha till 1500 hours on Tuesday, Chief Electoral office sources said.
Polling for the by-election to Brajrajnagar Assembly which began at 07AM is going on peacefully across the constituency,Chief Electoral Officer S K Lohani said.
So far no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the constituency, he said.
In the morning people were seen standing in a long queue in front of the booths to exercise their franchise.The polling will continue till 6PM.
Lohani said so far 3 BUS, 3 CUs and 3 VVPATs have been replaced.
The by-election was necessitated due to the death of sitting BJD member Kishore Chandra
Mohanty in December 2021.
