The morning news-break was the lookout notice on Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sosodia and 13 other alleged accused in the Excise Policy framed by Delhi government.
Minutes after the news made headlines in bulletins, there came a tweet by Sisodia that, he was roaming in Delhi freely and should be told by the CBI where to come.
That showed that somewhere there was a confusion and that too, a huge one which left many news platforms struggling for the authenticity.
When the Deputy CM in question is in Delhi and active on the social media, what transpired a situation when a lookout notice was issued!
On query some sources in the CBI gave to understand, on conditions of anonymity, that, such a notice cannot be issued without the nod from the concerned ministry.
No wing of the CBI can take suo motu decision on a lookout notice, added the sources.
Some in the non-BJP camps underscore a notion that, this can be construed as a step by which dissemination, it leads to the mental annihilation of the targeted person. Which can damage more than a real conviction.
It cannot be accepted that, there is any fly-risk that Sisodia might go abroad when the entire watch-dog mechanism is active.
Pending what comes out of the CBI probe, but there is a colossal political slugfest triggered by a lot of whataboutery over the issue.
