UNION BUDGET 2022-23: Here’s What Odisha Is Allocated With

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed allocation of Rs 9,734 crore to the East Coast Railway while presenting the Union Budget for 2022-2023 fiscal on February 1 in the Parliament.

The budgetary allocation of Rs 9,734 crore is only for railway infrastructure and safety related projects. Other charges like staff, welfare, workshop, M&P, training, HRD, store suspense has not been included in  the figure.

While Rs 1806.10 crore allocation has been proposed for new lines, budgetary allocation of Rs 3643.86 crore has been proposed for doubling.

Rs 456.14 crore has been proposed for Track renewal and Rs 396.98 crore for ROB and RUB.

Allocation for work sanctioned for infrastructure projects in SER and SECR falling in Odisha State has been proposed at Rs 1287 crore and for safety related works the proposal has been at Rs 31.04 crore.

The 289-km-long Khurda Road-Bolangir received a proposal for allocation of extra budgetary resources of Rs 655 crore for 2022-23. The project received extra budgetary resources of Rs 424.3 crore in Budget 2021-22.

Deposit of Rs 475 crore proposed for Angul-Sukinda Road (98.7 km), deposit of 85 crore Haridaspur-Paradeep (82 km) were proposed in the Budget 2022-23.

Talcher-Bimlagarh (154 km): Capital of Rs 250 crore in 2022-23 as against Rs 113.1 crore capital sanctioned in 2021-22.

Jeypore – Malkangiri (130 km) – deposit proposed Rs 2.8 crore

Jeypore – Nawarangpur (38 km) – deposit proposed Rs 35 crore

Nuapada-Gunupur – New broad gauge line up to Theruvali (79.15 km) – capital Rs 10 crore in 2022-23 Rs 0.2 crore in 2021-22

Talcher-Angul – New line with Y-connection at Talcher (14.475 km) – extra budgetary allocation Rs 11,000

Sambalpur-Gopalpur via Phulbani (241 km) – Capital Rs 1,000

New lines: deposit 833.91 crore and EBR (IF) Rs 655 crore have been proposed in the Budget 2022-23.

Rajatgarh-Barang (20 km) – EBR Rs 1,000

Jharsuguda-Rengali (25.6 km) – EBR Rs 0.15 crore

Sambalpur-Titlagarh (182 km) – Capital Rs 79.5 crore, EBR Rs 20.03 crore

Brundamal – Jharsuguda – Fly-over connection for joining down line (6.6 km) – EBR Rs 20 crore

Banspani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura (180 km) – Capital Rs 170 crore EBR Rs 130 crore

Delang-Puri (28.7 km) – Capital Rs 1,000

Sambalpur-Talcher (174.11 km) – Capital Rs 70 crore EBR Rs 102.5 crore

Bhadrak-Nergundi – 3rd line (80 km) –  Capital Rs 102 crore EBR Rs 249 crore

Jagdalpur-Koraput (110.22 km) – Capital Rs 105 crore EBR Rs 143.75 crore

Vizianagaram-Sambalpur(Titlagarh) – 3rd line (264.60 km) – Capital Rs 350 crore EBR Rs 611 crore

Khurda Road, Vizianagaram(Argul-Haripurgram) – Bypass (PH 1.616 km) – Rs 2.14 crore

Baghuapal-Fly-over (20 km) – EBR Rs 15 crore

For the ECoR, the Railway Budget proposed Capital Rs 1861.14 crore Deposit Rs 227.5 crore EBR Rs 2148.41 crore for doubling work.
