Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch seized the skin of a Royal Bengal tiger during a raid near Bisipur village under Baripada Forest Division in Mayurbhanj district late Tuesday night.
A wildlife smuggler identified as Phagu Hansda of Sridamchandrapur village has been arrested in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF team raided the village and seized the skin of the tiger from the accused. The estimated cost of the tiger skin is around Rs 15-20 lakhs in the international market.
