Puri: Lord’s Kitchen Debased , Temple Chulhas Vandalised: 4 Sevayats To Be Quizzed
Puri, Apr 4: Following a ruckus after Puri Sri Jagannath temple Chulhas being vandalised, atleast four sevayats are to be quizzed by the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) and the officers in charge of security today.
Over 60 mud ovens (chulhas) inside the Jagannath temple’s kitchen, known as the Rosa Ghara were allegedly vandalised by some unknown miscreants on late night on Saturday.
It has been suspected that due to business rivalry in Anand Bazar some unknown miscreants allegedly ransacked chullas inside the Rosa Ghara after the Bada singhara besha of the deities.
Notably the pithapuri, Kothabhoga, Satapuri and Thadapuri chulhas have been ransacked. Around 189 chullas are used for the Mahaprasad of Lord Jagannath.
The CCTV footage of the incident is being examined to identify those involved in the incident, said District Collector Samarth Verma.
Notably, the Puri Srimandir will remain closed for the general public for four hours on account of Khasapada Niti today from 4 pm to 8 pm.
