Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: The State Government has issued guidelines following instructions from the State Election Commission for celebration of Republic Day, in poll-bound Odisha.
While the 3-tier Panchayat polls are scheduled in February this year, the SEC has specified that the speech by the Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers, should be restricted to Nation, freedom fighters, Martyrs, and glorification of India.
Any form of political, departmental, Governance-related or programmes and schemes by the Government should not be mentioned in the speech on Republic Day by the Chief Guests.
Similarly, Ministers and political workers cannot join the Republic Day function in their own districts as guests. The SEC has allowed the State-level award ceremony to be held as usual.
