Bhubaneswar: Junior Revenue Assistant in the office of Tahasildar, Jasipur in Mayurbhanj district was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance on Friday while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000.
Junior Revenue Assistant Bhargab Mahakud had demanded the amount from a person in order to process file in mutation case for issuance of ROR (Patta) in his favour. Based on the complaint of the person, the Vigilance laid a trap and caught Mahakud.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from his possession. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations associated with Mahakud from disproportionate assets angle. Investigation is in progress against Mahakud.
