Odisha To Constitute Task Force To Protect Rights Street Children-OSCPCR
Bhubaneswar, June 9: A Task Force would be constituted to protect the rights of street children, Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) Chairperson Sandhyabati Pradhan said here on Wednesday.
Pradhan said the decision to constitute the Task Force was taken at a meeting of the Commission convened to chalk out a strategy on how to rehabilitate the street children and bring them to mainstream.
She said the Task Force would consist of members of various organisations working with different government departments like Education, Health, Labour for the protection of the rights of children.
The Task Force will review the implementation of programmes for the street children in every three months and prepare an action plan.
She said all steps would be taken to help the children reach the school system .
The children would be involved in various child friendly programmes and they would be covered under all government schemes.
The OSCPCR Chairperson said a survey would be conducted after identifying all hotspots where the street children are staying.
