Kendrapara, June 2: A Headmaster was suspended for misappropriating money allotted under mid day meal scheme during covid pandemic period.
Official source here on Thursday said Prasanna Karan, the Headmaster of Rajendra Narayanpur Primary school was suspended by Rajnagar Block Education officer Manoranjan Sethy on Tuesday for withdrawing Mid day meal money during the covid pandemic.
The state government allotted 100 gram rice and a sum of Rs 5.42 for each student studying from class 1 to class 5 and 150 gm rice and a sum of Rs 8.10 for each student of class 6 to class 8.
The Headmaster withdrew Rs 91,000 MDM money from the school account, on October25, 2021 and did not distribute it among the students .
On the complaints of the parents of students,the BEO of Rajnagar directed Subash Chandra Mohanty, the ABEO of Rajnagar to conduct an inquiry and to submit a detailed inquiry report.
During the inquiry the Headmaster was found guilty of misappropriating the mid day meal
money.
