Odisha Govt To Set Up Two More ITIs
Bhubaneswar, August 3: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced to set up two new government Industrial Training (ITI) Institutes in the state.
Patnaik said the new ITIs would be opened at Kuchinda in Sambalpur and at Patnagarha in Bolangir district which would benefit the youths of ST Community in Kuchinda, Bamara and Jamankira blocks of Sambalpur district and in Patnagarha blocks of Bolangir district.
As many as 240 students would be imparted training in four trades with potential for employment and self employment in each of the institutes.
Since many industrial units are coming up around Sambalpur the professional training would help in developing the skills of the students and would create opportunities for employment and self employment for them, Patnaik said.
Sources said out of the total 314 blocks of the state 251 blocks have government and private ITIs. Similarly, out of 58 subdivisions 48 have ITIs.
With the setting up of ITIs in Kuchinda and Patnagarha the number of Sub Divisions with ITI would increase to 50.
