Bhubaneswar, July 12: Odisha government has hiked the housing loan assistance amount for government employees from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.
The loan assistance was increased on the basis of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay
Commission.
The state government also reduced the rate of interest from earlier 11.5 per cent to 8 per cent.
Chief Minister’s office sources here said the loan assistance would be provided to the employees in two phases at the ratio of 60-40.
Earlier as per the house building assistance rules in 2010 up to Rs 25 lakh loan was being given at 11.5 per cent interest.
All employees covered under the National Pension scheme and all permanent government employees can avail of the housing loan.
