Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: The Panchayati Raj Department of the Odisha government on Friday released the final list of reservations for the post of Zilla Parishad presidents across the State. The notification was issued as per sub-section (3) of section 8 of the Odisha Zilla Parishad Rules 1991.
As per the final list, 15 out of the 30 Zilla Parishad president posts in the State have been reserved for women candidates.
Out of the 15 Zilla Parishad president posts reserved for women, 3 are reserved for scheduled caste candidates, and 4 for scheduled tribe candidates.
Other than the women candidates, 2 are reserved for scheduled caste candidates, and 3 for scheduled tribe candidates.
Zilla Parishad president posts in the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Boudh, and Jajpur have been reserved for scheduled caste category.
Similarly, Zilla Parishad president posts in the districts of Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Rayagada, and Sundargarh have been reserved for scheduled tribe category.
